Wight Community Energy Team

(R-L) Colin Palmer, Angela Terry, Jeff Kenna and Councillor Ian Stephens

The first of a series of planned events from Wight Community Energy and Mongoose Energy took place at Lakeside Park Hotel and Spa in Wootton Bridge, Isle of Wight. The event saw Colin Palmer, Chairman of WCE and Jeff Kenna, Director provide a short presentation on the solar park project, benefits to the community and the share offer. The event also gave those attending the opportunity to ask questions and meet both Colin and Jeff together with Angela Terry from the Mongoose Energy team. Two sessions were held on the day with the first seeing Ian Stephens Counsellor from the Isle of Wight Council reflect their support for the project and value to the Island. In the later session Vix Lowthion of the Isle of Wight Green Party reflected on the importance of renewable energy to the Island and spoke with those attending. This was the first of a series of events to be held across the Island and provide the perfect opportunity for anyone with an interest in the project and the share offer to come along and meet the team from Wight Community Energy and Mongoose Energy to ask any questions and find out more about this important project. All the events are free to attend. The next events are being held at Ventnor Botanic Gardens on Tuesday, March 22nd and Tapnell Farm, Yarmouth on Wednesday, March 23rd with two sessions planned each day at 2:30pm and 5:30pm.
