Anthony Woolhouse became Chairman of Wight Community Energy in October 2019. He is also chairman and founder of West Solent Solar Cooperative, a 2.4MW solar farm close by Lymington.
He lives in an eco house and drives electric cars. The latest project has been to take gas out of the house so that everything is powered by electricity, including two Tesla batteries which collect electricity from the solar PV and are changed up by the grid at night-time.
He is a Quaker and as Quakers in 2011 decided to become a Low Carbon Society this has convinced him to devote his life to a more sustainable way of living
